Are your websites attractive, do you do honest and good business, etc. Obviously, even with the best advertising, if your business practices are not good, it will not realistically speaking ever last.

But then they built their company around quality and a different kind of success in general. They therefore initially attracted the right kinds of customers of course. But using direct mail lists, they actually grew their loyal business and customers, and they attracted long term business, which is really the thing you want to do, because while you can use direct mail lists, you can’t rely entirely on them. You also have to rely on word of mouth and what people will say about you.
